Scripture: Isaiah 30:15: For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.”
God calls His people to return and rest, finding strength in quietness and confidence, though they resist. An urgent feeling can make the first available solution seem like the only one. Isaiah 30 addresses Judah’s search for security through Egypt without faithful dependence on God. Verse 15 calls the people toward returning, rest, and trust. Its closing words also reveal their unwillingness to receive that invitation.
For us, the passage offers a question worth asking: Am I so eager for relief that I am overlooking what is wise and faithful? Quiet trust can include practical action. It gives us room to examine motives, seek counsel, and avoid choices driven entirely by panic.
If a decision can safely wait, give it a thoughtful pause. Name the facts, distinguish them from assumptions, and pray about the next step. If action is needed now, ask for steadiness as you act. Trust grows as we bring our urgency into relationship with God.
