Scripture: Mark 9:24:“And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.”
You may trust God and still have questions. You may pray with hope while feeling afraid. In Mark 9:24, a father brings that tension directly to Jesus. His words arise from concern for his suffering son. He asks for help rather than trying to present perfectly settled belief.
This moment gives us language for honest prayer. Tell God what you believe. Then tell Him where you struggle. Perhaps disappointment has made hope difficult. Perhaps you are unsure how to understand a passage. Bring the whole concern into the conversation.
Stay connected to people who can listen thoughtfully and help you seek understanding. A question does not need to become isolation. Read the surrounding
story and notice the father’s direct appeal to Jesus. You can begin there too: with a sincere request for help in the place where faith feels uncertain.
