Scripture: Romans 12:10 : “Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;”
Show affectionate love to one another and take the lead in honoring others. Read KJV. Some people receive frequent recognition. Others contribute quietly and may wonder whether anyone notices. Romans 12:10 calls believers toward affectionate love and honor. It invites us to take an active role in treating one another as worthy of care.
Think about someone whose effort supports your day. A caregiver, colleague, neighbor, volunteer, or family member may be doing work that rarely receives acknowledgment. Offer thanks that names the actual contribution. “I appreciate how patiently you helped me understand” communicates more than a hurried compliment.
Honor also appears in attention. Learn a person’s name, listen to their perspective, and give them credit for their work. You can make this practice part of ordinary interactions. Ask God to help you notice people beyond status or convenience. A community becomes more welcoming when its members consistently recognize one another’s dignity.
