Why Foundations Matter

Luke 6:48 reminds us of the importance of building our lives on a strong foundation. Jesus describes a person who digs deep, lays a foundation on the rock, and remains steady when the floods come. The lesson is simple: what is built beneath the surface determines what can stand above it.

Character before recognition. God develops who we are before He reveals what we can do.

Habits before results. Consistent prayer, obedience, discipline, and integrity create the strength needed for lasting fruit.

Wisdom before expansion. Before God enlarges your influence, He may first enlarge your understanding.

Faithfulness before increase. Small assignments handled faithfully prepare us for greater responsibility.

Finally, take a personal foundation check. What are you building your life on? Are your decisions rooted in God’s Word, or in circumstances, opinions, and recognition?

Build deeply. Build wisely. Build on the Rock. When storms come, a strong foundation makes all the difference.
