Romans 15:13 · KJV

“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”

Paul’s prayer appears in a passage about welcome, shared worship, and hope extending to the Gentiles. Its source is the God of hope, and its power comes from the Holy Ghost. Joy and peace grow in believing. This gives us a deeply relational way to approach the future: we look toward the coming month in fellowship with God and with care for one another.

As September closes, gather what you want to carry forward. Remember a verse that steadied you, a person who encouraged you, and a habit that helped you draw near to God. Let the closing of the month become an occasion for thanksgiving and renewed commitment. Offer October’s possibilities to the Lord with open hands.

A personal relationship with God grows through returning to Him: learning who Jesus is, trusting His grace, speaking honestly in prayer, receiving the teaching of Scripture, and sharing life with other believers. Begin where you are. Read one of this week’s passages again. Speak to God in your own words. Ask a trusted pastor or mature Christian to walk alongside you as you learn.

A Simple Way To Close The Month

Choose a quiet moment on September 30. Thank God for one gift from September.

Ask Him to deepen one quality in your life.

Name one person you can encourage in October.

Then pray: “Father, thank You for walking with me. Teach me to know You more deeply, to receive Your wisdom, and to share Your love in the days ahead. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Let this remaining September day become a gentle invitation to draw closer to God. Begin with one verse, one honest prayer, and one loving action today.
