One of the biggest misconceptions about courage is that courageous people don’t experience fear.
They do.
The difference is what happens next.
Second Timothy 1:7 reminds us that fear isn’t what God has given us. We have access to power, love, and a sound mind.
A sound mind can acknowledge risk without exaggerating it.
Love can move us beyond self-protection.
And God’s power reminds us that our own strength isn’t our only resource.
Courage may look surprisingly ordinary.
Submitting the application.
Having the difficult conversation.
Beginning the project.
Setting a boundary.
Trying again after disappointment.
Asking for help.
Fear doesn’t automatically mean stop.
Sometimes fear simply means you’re approaching the edge of what’s familiar.
You don’t need to wait until you’re fearless.
Take the next wise step while trusting God with what comes after it.
