Strength doesn’t always announce itself.

Sometimes strength looks like refusing to argue.

Sometimes wisdom means listening longer.

Sometimes maturity means allowing something to pass without giving it your reaction.

You don’t have to respond to everything that reaches you. Self-control is strength nobody can take from you. Proverbs tells us that a person of knowledge uses words carefully.

Maturity changes your reactions.

You realize every comment doesn’t require a response.

Every misunderstanding doesn’t require a defense.

Every disagreement doesn’t require an argument.

And every distraction doesn’t deserve your attention.

Sometimes your greatest demonstration of strength is remaining composed when you could have reacted.

Peace becomes powerful when you stop handing other people control of it.

Before reacting today, ask: Does this really deserve my energy?
