Scripture: Romans 8:26: Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

The Spirit helps believers in weakness and intercedes when they do not know how to pray as they should. Read KJV. There are moments when prayer feels difficult because the situation is too complicated for words. You want help, but you do not know which outcome to ask for. Romans 8:26 speaks of the Spirit’s help in weakness and intercession beyond our ability to express ourselves.

This assurance gives us permission to come without a complete explanation. Sit quietly before God. Say what you can: a name, a concern, or a request for help. Let your limits become part of the prayer rather than a reason to postpone it.

You can also receive the support of someone praying beside you. A trusted friend or pastor may help you hold the concern without pretending to solve it. The passage directs our confidence toward God’s provision in our weakness. Even when your words are few, you can turn toward Him.
